If you’re a 90s kid, Takeshi Castle must have been part of your beautiful childhood memories. The Hindi dubbed version of the popular Japanese show aired in India in 2005 on the Pogo channel. With Jaaved Jaaferi’s hilarious voice acting, watching people fall through mud puddles has become part of everyone’s evening routine.

The show was an instant hit with kids and gained cult status and a loyal following. If you are a fan of Takeshi Castle and haven’t missed a single episode of the show, here’s great news for you.

According to the latest reports, Takeshi Castle is making a comeback soon. Yes, you read that right! Interestingly, the Japanese version of the show is getting a reboot thanks to Prime Video. According to a Deadline report, the Takeshi Castle the reboot will stream on Amazon Prime Video in 2023 in over 240 markets. It is one of many Japanese originals slated for international release in the new Prime objective of expanding its offer in Japan.

As soon as the news broke, fans of Takeshi Castle went crazy and expressed their excitement on social media. Although there is no update whether the show will be dubbed in Hindi or not, social media users have made it clear that they want Jaaved Jaaferi to dub the show in Hindi.

Reacting to the show’s return, one social media user tweeted, “Oh my god!! Childhood comes to life. #90skids #TakeshisCastle”

Another Twitter user wrote, “Best news I’ve heard today. I can’t keep calm because my childhood is back. Surely I’ll binge-watch it.”

For the uninitiated, Takeshi Castle first aired almost 34 years ago. Takeshi Kitano (also known as Beat Takeshi) appeared as a count who owned a castle in the series. Some of the show’s popular tasks included Skipping Stones, Honeycomb Maze, Dragon Lake, Whack The Stack, among others.
