Japan Foundation launches 2022 Online Japanese Film Festival in India, Entertainment News

The Japan Foundation New Delhi announces the virtual Japanese Film Festival (JFF) 2022 in India amid the pandemic. Celebrating Japanese culture through specially selected films; the fifth edition of the festival in India will feature 20 globally popular Japanese films of various genres and styles.

The 2-week festival will start on February 14, 2022.

Celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and India, this festival will focus on its diverse lineup of acclaimed, top-grossing and award-winning films such as Japanese showbiz’s Under the Open Sky. The films selected will be subtitled in English for the viewer’s convenience.

The 2022 Japanese Film Festival’s catalog of films includes top titles such as: It’s a Summer Movie, Mio’s Cookbook, Masked Neighborhood, Under the Open Sky, Awake, Aristocrats, Time of Eve, Ito , Patema Inverted, Sumodo – The Successors of Samurai, The God of Ramen, Rashomon, The Floating Castle, Happy Flight, Oz Land, Until Dawn, His Love Boils the Bath Water, The Leader of South Polar , Bread of Happiness and ReLIFE. The theme that runs through the curation of the festival is “Travel” and 20 films have been carefully selected to represent the different aspects of this theme. Titles are selected specifically to cater to all ages and tastes in categories including Animation, Dramatic Feature, Romance, Thriller, Classic Comedy and Documentary.
