In a YouTube video featuring the event, the two were said to be together when they appeared on a Japanese variety show.

After hearing the shocking question, the two nervously replied that they didn’t know. This is where it became more shocking and upsetting for many fans of THE SSERAFIM, the FEARNOT.

The Japanese male host kept asking them about it. He asked why the two didn’t know. He went on to say that they must have known because they must have left with their boyfriends.

FEARNOTs angry at Japanese host

For this, LE SSERAFIM fans were irritated by the Japanese host. Even non-fans were unhappy with the questions asked.

In a BANG article, the poster said that if this man was a Korean host, he would be easily criticized by many netizens.

Many comments agreed with the post that Japanese variety shows are such weird and even weirder shows to allow men to ask their guests these kinds of questions.

PANN’s comments drew mixed reactions as some thought the two might be used to it as they are Japanese themselves.

“Anyway, they’re both Japanese.”

“It’s not like the members of our country have heard this, the people of this country are all doing stuff like this… Our country doesn’t need to know what’s going on in their country. “

Other comments simply stated that it was usual with female idols and both were treated as such.

“This man talks to them more like they’re AKB members than like Korean idols”

However, others have noticed that Japan does not value women as much as men because of issues like these.

“Japan, d**n, has few rights for women”

“Aren’t they swearing at them when they talk like that over there…? Whether you’re a man or a woman, people no one could talk like that because of the backlash they would get online. “

The same goes for the reactions of international K-pop fans. They find the act horrible and condemn the Japanese male host.
